My Leadership Philosophy
Leadership requires communication, a clear vision, goal-setting, and detailed plans to accomplish goals. Leaders do not silo themselves. Leaders value the voices of stakeholders and include them in discussions and surveys when decisions are being made. The voices of stakeholders strengthen a leader's message and by appreciating the opinions and voices of these individuals, leaders show that they know their role is bigger than themselves, and that they respect, and care about the good of the group.
In order to achieve their desired outcomes, leaders must foster a trusting safe-zone where failing forward is applauded among colleagues and reflection, inquiry, and mutual respect establishes a rapport that motivates the team to work together. A model leader shows thorough follow-through, dedication, and devotion to achieve outcomes and celebrates the gifts and skills that each teammate contributes to the desired goal.
Leadership is a privilege. It is about building relationships and positively influencing others. Done right, it can make a positive impact. It could be a person's legacy.
